Q.  DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE AND HOW MUCH?


A.   Of course we do.  Second to None Entertainment carries a $1,000,000.00 liability

insurance policy and would be happy to provide a copy of our insurance certificate upon request.


Q.  WILL YOU PLAY A VARIETY OF MUSIC TO CATER TO ALL OF MY GUESTS?


A.   Our music library consists of all types of music with more than 55,000 hits spanning over

seven decades.  A great mix of new and old, fast and slow, as well requests from you and your

guests will ensure that everyone has a great time.



Q.  CAN WE MEET THE DJ THAT WILL BE PERFORMING AT OUR EVENT?


A.   Second to None Entertainment encourages, although it is not required, that each client meet with

their DJ within two weeks prior to their event or earlier.  This way, your DJ will be able to go over all of

the details of your event and confirm everything you would like to have.



Q.  CAN WE SEE OUR DJ PERFORM AT ANOTHER EVENT?


A.  We do not allow any of our potential customers to attend a performance at someone else’s private event. We believe that this is an unprofessional practice as well as not very fair to the people that hired us.  This policy is strictly enforced.



Q.  IS THERE SALES TAX ON DJ ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES?


A.  No, there is no sales tax on DJ Entertainment Services in the state of NY.  However, there is sales tax on party giveaways and novelties.



Q.  SHOULD I TIP THE DJ?


A.  It is customary to tip your DJ. However, whether you do or not is entirely up to you. Its a nice way of letting them know you think they did a great job. The amount of the tip is also up to you, but 10-20% is the average amount.



Q.  DO YOU PROVIDE A WRITTEN CONTRACT?


A.  Of course we do.  It is extremely important for both parties to have a written performance agreement contract.  However we do not just ask you to sign on the dotted line, we actually take time to go over each detail with you so you know what to expect.



Q.  ARE THERE ANY TRAVEL CHARGES?


A.  There are no travel charges within a 50 mile radius from our business location in Oyster Bay, NY.  Travel beyond this radius would be included in the total charge on the performance agreement contract.



Q.  IF MY GUESTS ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME, CAN THE DJ STAY OVERTIME?


A.  Overtime is offered in 30 minute increments and the terms are included in the performance agreement contract.  Please keep in mind that only you, the client may authorize the extended overtime performance.



Q.  HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR SERVICES?


A. The biggest mistake most people make is that this is the ONLY question they ask. The entertainment is the most important factor in the success of your event.  Second to None Entertainment is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive.  We priced our services competitively without sacrificing performance and delivering exceptional value.



Q.  WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?


A.  We accept Cash, Check, Money Orders, Certified Checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  Payment terms and schedule are specified in the performance agreement contract.



Q.  HOW SOON BEFORE MY EVENT SHOULD I BOOK MY DJ?


A.  The best time is as soon as you have confirmed your date. Remember, booking a DJ is like booking a catering hall or photographer. The really good and popular ones are booked early.



Q.  WHERE SHOULD YOU SET UP YOUR DJ EQUIPMENT?


A.  The best place is in front of the dance floor. It is best not to have any tables between the DJ and the dance floor, or guests in conversation will have trouble hearing each other. Remember, the further away the DJ is from the dance floor, the louder the music must be.



Q.  ARE WE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THE DJ WITH A MEAL?


A.  It is customary to provide your service providers with a meal. If you will not be providing them with a meal, it would be considerate to tell them in advance so they can make other arrangements. Remember, your service providers (DJ’s, photographers, videographers, etc) put in a long day and the only opportunity they will have to eat is at dinner.



Q.  WHAT TIME DO YOU ARRIVE TO SET UP EQUIPMENT?


A.  Second to None Entertainment will arrive between one and two hours before the start time, in order to be set up and professionally dressed when the event begins. Please bear in mind that some venues may require Second to None Entertainment to arrive even earlier in order to get into the space before guests arrive.



Q.  DO YOU HAVE A BACK UP PLAN IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY?


A.  Yes we do.  We have back equipment, vehicles, and personnel standing by in case of an emergency.  With more than 18 years of experience performing at hundreds of events, we have encountered everything from car accidents to automobile failures, snow storms, equipment failures and sickness.  None of which have kept us from performing at a scheduled event.  You as the client will always be notified in case of any emergency.  The only unfortunate part is if you requested a certain performer at your event and something happens to that performer, they would be substituted by another performer that is on a rotation basis and is as qualified as all of the other DJ's in our company.  So you may rest assured that your event will still be great.
